Today is a New Day, Not a Blue Day!

Today is a New Day, Not a Blue Day!

When starting a blog, what do you write about? There are many places to start, but each time you write, you must find something that speaks to you, something that makes you feel drawn out of your private shell enough to speak on it publicly.

On days like today, when the world is in such chaos and turmoil, it's almost impossible to go through your day like it's a nice, normal day. I'm quite sure that the people in France last week were enjoying a nice, normal day that day. I'm quite sure nothing seemed out the ordinary to those loved ones in the Twin Towers in NYC on 9/11.  I find life is never truly normal, and you never know what to expect. We never know what day God has assigned in his plan as our last breath, or our last day on this earth.

I think, in times like this, when nothing is normal, and terror and tragedy are lurking around every corner, we must cling to our faith. There are many verses in the Bible that speak about worrying about death, and end of life. One I especially like is 1 Peter 1:3-6.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. (1 Peter 1:3-6)

What a beautiful promise, that there is something greater waiting!

Don't get me wrong, I believe fully in protecting myself, and my family! I have two daughters, one is 9 and the other is 3. I have a husband that I adore, and we both would go down in a blaze of glory protecting our family without fail. We both have concealed carry permits, and try to practice at a range when possible. Despite this, you can never be truly ready, without God.

The difference for us from someone that does not yet know Jesus Christ, is that we don't fear death. I fear the dying itself, the possible pain or agony. But I do not fear death. I know that when my time is up, and I take my last breath, whether it be by cancer, a car accident, or a terrorist act, I will meet my Savior, Jesus Christ. He will meet me in Heaven, and give me a kiss on each cheek. I will see loved ones that have passed on before me, and I will rejoice in seeing their sweet faces again. I especially cannot wait to see my Dad. He's missed so much.....

Do you have this guarantee? Are you looking forward to gazing on the sweet face of the God that has stood by your side through the hard times, and celebrated with you through the victories of your life? Today is a new day! We are not guaranteed tomorrow, or next week, or next year. Do not be blue, Jesus loves you. No matter what sin is apart of your past or present, bring it to Jesus, and let him restore a new life, a new love, in you.

For those of you that believe that you need to "fix" yourself first before coming to Jesus, that's the devil convincing you of that. You cannot do it alone, without God. Pray at the Savior's feet, and He will fix you. When you make an appointment to see a physician, do you try to heal yourself before going to your appointment, or laying down for your surgery? No! Jesus is the greatest physician! It's not too late.

Be blessed, my friends.
